1. Who are the designers of The Little Island
Collection?
Our designers are Singaporeans who have a flair for the visual arts and
sculptures. The team of designers consists of both full-time and part-time
personnel who have received formal training in fine arts, visual communications
or graphic designs in local art institutions and polytechnics.

2. Of what materials are the pieces of your Collection
made of?
Initially, when we first started, the pieces were made of plaster and clay.
However, for reasons of finer detailing and durability, we have since progressed
to using polystone. This material is in liquid form before setting and hardens
in the mold to become a white piece.

3. Where are your pieces made in?
As each piece is individually crafted and hand-painted (i.e. no two pieces
are similar), we have to manufacture them in countries with a strong tradition
of handicrafts. Although designed and conceptualised in Singapore, the production
is executed in cottage industries in countries like China, Thailand and
Indonesia. The abundant skilled labour and relatively lower cost of production
make these countries more attractive for our investment.

4. How many designs do you currently have in your
Collection?
There are currently 15 designs ranging from "Peranakan" (Straits-born
Chinese) shophouses to colonial buildings and seaside bungalows in our Collection.
As we have a large following of collectors and fans, we intend to introduce
new designs, progressively. However, there are many more designs that we
have created on private and exclusive commissions for corporate and individual
clients. See Custom Designs.

5. What is the average weight and size of each picture?
Average weight is about 800 g - 1 kg. Average size: L 13-14 cm, H 10cm

6. Are they fragile?
Yes, just like any clay or ceramic item, they will be damaged if improperly
handled.

7. Do the paints on the pieces wear off over time?
Not if they are lovingly kept indoors with the occasional dusting with a
fine brush and a handy air-blower. The acrylic colours should be permanent
and hold their own without fading. Wiping with a damp cloth is not recommended
as the moisture created may cause discoloration and fungal growth.

8. Can the pieces be exposed outdoors?
Certainly not, as any prolonged exposure to sun and rain will cause the
paints to discolour rapidly.

9. How much do they cost?
Retail prices (fixed) currently range from US$27 - $260 (S$39 -$370) for
the miniature houses Collection, and from US$50 - $100 (S$68 - $138) for
the Wall Plaques.

10. What is the lead-time for production? How long
do I need to wait for delivery after ordering?
For exclusive commissions, the lead-time from the prototype production to
delivery of ordered goods will take a minimum of 90-120 days. If you wish
to order any item from our existing Collection, please allow up to 2 weeks
for delivery in Singapore (subject to a minimum order amount of US$500).
